As the year draws to a close ,we all tend to be reflective as to our good fortune and to those who enriched our lives, but are no longer with us. Earlier this autumn, photography lost a true visionary, Shirley Baker. Her images of Salford and Manchester in the mid 20th century have become iconic, and with thanks to the Mary Evans Picture Library, I enclose this image of a Bedford CA ice-
I have now listed the last of Les Browns new LCV stock , a list is available at £6.00 to cover the printing and binding costs , a handy reference to what I have in stock.
Just arrived are new front coil springs for the CF 220/230/250 , brand new made in the UK suitable for both petrol and diesel models from 1969 to 1986 (we have plenty of used CF350 twin front springs)available from the eBay site or direct.
Neil from Bury noticed in our yard was a CF250 swb van conversion by COOPER , afterwards he emailed us this brochure illustration , we have a lot of the interior including the lift up roof and sink with Whale pump , a rare thing . I'm happy to cut the roof out , but bring something to collect !! please contact us for further details.
Whilst sorting out some boxes I came across a new brake booster pump for the early Opel engines CF ( very rare !!) and a very good condition front timing cover for the 1800/2300cc petrol , also fits Panther Lima and Viva Magnum cars.
Due in later this year will be Bedford CA inlet manifold gaskets , the little round rings , so watch this space.
Talking of watching , at a recent screening of “Coming up Roses” a Welsh film of the mid 1980's, was a glimpse of a bright blue Cummings ice cream van , set against the back drop of Welsh mining valleys.
