Hello Once More!

Well, January has gone, and soon March will appear.

One tip I must pass on to you all, is please don’t leave your Beddie unloved or undriven for months on end, for your clutch may stick on.

My advice is unbolt the whole gearbox there are and gently remove the clutch plate from the flywheel, you have a radio.

If you try to break it free by setting off then ramming it into gear, you may very well do serious damage to the gearbox.A quick drive around the block can save you pounds.

Much work has been done on the next reconditioned 2300cc petrol engine, one item I have had to remake is the steel horseshoe spacer, behind the auxiliary shaft. These have a habit of cracking. I have had a batch of ten made in high grade stainless steel, (best suited to performance engines.)

After much searching I have located a few Panther Lima air filter elements, they were really hard to find.

On a change of subject entirely, I do recommend the film “The King’s Speech” if only because one of the adverts in front of the film features an aged example of a Whitby Morrison CF ice cream van, God Bless the Co-Op!

Updating for a New Era, Early Opel Diesels.

We have taken the AC/Delco 45 amp alternator and

1). Kept the case and fan but updated the internals to give a 70 amp/hour these were fitted to 2.1,2.0 and 2.3 Opel diesels (without the vacuum booster pump attached to them) so for some campers could well be an answer to your prayers to keep both batteries charged as you drive along!

So far, only for this application, but more are to follow, so watch this space! Please note for the later 2.3 diesel, ....already available!

Recycling:

Bedford 1980-81 CF 340 2.0/2.1 Opel diesel, running at a rally last year, but cab is rotten, and there’s no gearbox, a livestock carrier (Ivor Williams design) with a deep drop=down ramp. Bolted to a lorry, aluminium flatbed is complete with wooden side sections, so anyone keeping goats?? An ideal home for ponies, feed storing, it’s a must have item!
