Well, Greetings once more!

JUNE Well that was the summer in April ? (I hope not !)

I am reproducing here a small article I thought might stir some of our more avid readers:

“I am a PANTHER LIMA MK1. I have no name, perhaps I did once ? Does anybody remember me? My registration mark? PPA 80R. For quite sometime I have resided in Dunfermline at ABBEY CARS, then in April the main man said I had to go.

Brian the salesman told me a guy from the south was coming , and one day he did.

He was rather fat and said he sold engine parts for cars of my type, in a rush it was all over.

Brian was nervous and asked Mr A if he intended to drive me back? No he cheerfully replied saying he did not think I would make out of Dunfermline!!

So a few weeks latter a big shiny lorry came and took me away. Off I went, leaving Scotland thru Cumbria then the Lake District, “South” Brian said I wondered; would it be Cheshire ,Oxford or perhaps Dorking?

Err no, Leeds in Yorkshire , and a dusty old yard at that.

Mr A. comes out, collects the keys , waits till everyone has left. Opens my door……… and gets stuck, at least he now knows why my carpet is missing from the cabin side, as his foot is jammed!

Finally, he’s in, but now stuck under my steering wheel. To show willing I start, and move 20 feet, he seems pleased by this and with relief struggles out realizing  he’s not 20 anymore.

Now stamping his foot,  (my fault a he stabbed his finger on the Hood stud !

Oh dear Mrs A has arrived and seems less than impressed? Mr A tells her an investment and he’s going to fit a Luminition ignition kit and..and.... Mrs A has gone off in a Huff !

Mr A puts me away , more loud voices , ........................................happy days................”                   (to be continued)

Back to the news this month and the firm that produces repair panels for us has managed to make a section to aid repairs to the rear valence,£120.00

I have sourced some original rear brake hoses for the CF250 up to 1977 and a couple of air pipes to the carb both new.

As an improvement to our range of stainless steel exhausts we now offer an extension piece.

We have found some door locks for the sliding front doors as well as step mats.

Passing thru were a couple from Lincolnshire, to collect a much needed centre prop-bearing, the lady is a psychiatric nurse (a most useful partner if working on a CF!!)
